#WrenchingWomenWednesday with Katie French, featuring Isabella Zacchia

Each week for Wrenching Women Wednesday, we focus our efforts on shining a light on Women in Automotive and their journey’s in automotive. This week, we would like to introduce Isabella Zacchia, Restorations Technician and Mechanic at Graveyard Run Restorations. Some of Isabella’s accomplishments include:

  • Small Gas Engine Service Certified, TRAVISS award from Bartow High School
  • Bachelor of Automotive Restoration Technology from McPherson College

This is Isabella’s story

Although I grew up working with my hands, I didn’t begin working on cars until I accidentally signed up for Small Gas Engine Service Technology in high school. After 3 years of working on weed whackers and lawn mowers, I realized there was nothing more I wanted to do than work on cars.

I applied to McPherson College and was accepted to their Automotive Restoration Department. I completed the 4-year degree a year early, co-ran the CARS club show with Samantha Cotell my second year, and was given the opportunity to attend several automotive-related conferences.

During this time I interned at the Tampa Bay Auto Museum, Barrett-Jackson, and Enfield Auto Restoration. I currently work at Graveyard Run Restorations as a mechanic and restoration technician.

Cars don’t care what gender you are, so if you want to work on cars, then work on cars. Women make some of the best mechanics.
